Terms of use & sale

The terms.

Short, plain, and set at a size a person can actually read. This is what happens when you buy the game, when you give toward it, and when you use this site.

Last updated August 21, 2026

Who you are dealing with

Isometricland is made and sold by Michael Mills Jr., trading as Isometricland, a sole proprietor in the United States. "We", "us" and "our" below mean him; "you" means you.

The fastest way to reach a real person about an order, a refund, a leaderboard entry or anything on this page is email: Isometriclandgame@gmail.com. It is read by the person who makes the game.

Using this site, pre-ordering, or donating means you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

The two ways to help

Donating — the Donate page

  • A gift toward finishing the game. Any amount, once.
  • It does not include a copy of the game.
  • It is not refundable.
  • It is not a charitable donation. Nothing here is tax-deductible.

Pre-ordering — the Buy page

  • $12.99, and it is a copy of the game.
  • Yours on November 18, 2026 — or sooner.
  • Cancel any time before then for a full refund.

The promise, if you pre-order

Your copy is waiting for you on the morning of November 18, 2026 — or sooner. It arrives at the email address you order with.

And nothing is locked in: change your mind any time before opening day and you get every cent back — no reason needed, no questions, no store credit. Not a favour you have to ask twice for.

Where it runs

Isometricland releases on Windows, Mac and Linux — all three on opening day, and all three come with one purchase. The slider on the Buy page only chooses which build reaches you first.

Windows At release.
Mac At release.
Linux At release.

System requirements will be published before release. If the game will not run on your machine, that is a reason for a refund like any other — see the pre-order terms below.

The terms of a pre-order
  1. A pre-order is a purchase of one copy of Isometricland for $12.99 in US dollars, delivered on release day — November 18, 2026, or sooner if the game opens early. If your card is in another currency, your bank sets the rate and may add its own fee; we never see either.
  2. You may cancel at any time before your copy is delivered and be refunded in full. You do not have to give a reason, and there is no deadline to ask by other than opening day itself. Email Isometriclandgame@gmail.com and the refund goes back to the card you paid with.
  3. Your copy is delivered as a download, to the email address you order with, on release day. Keep that address working — it is the only place your copy is sent. If it changes, tell us before release day.
  4. A pre-order covers Windows, Mac and Linux — all three builds are included in the one purchase, and you may use any or all of them. The platform you pick when you order decides only which build we send you first; it is not a restriction on what you own, and it costs nothing to change your mind about it.
  5. Release dates on this site are the honest current plan, not a guarantee of a particular hour. If the date ever moves you will be told, and the cancel-for-a-full-refund right in clause 2 stands until your copy actually arrives.
  6. Once your copy has been delivered the purchase is complete and the pre-order refund right in clause 2 ends. Everything after that is covered by your legal rights as a consumer, which nothing on this page takes away — if the game is faulty or not as described, write to us.
  7. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax, VAT or import charge your own country applies. Where such a tax must be collected at checkout, the payment processor calculates and shows it before you pay.
  8. Payment is taken by the payment processor named at checkout, who also issues the refunds. Your card details are handled by them and are never seen by this site.
  9. If you think a charge is wrong, please email us first — a refund is faster than a chargeback and does not put your copy at risk. We may cancel an order, and the copy delivered under it, where a payment is reversed or a chargeback raised without contacting us.
What buying the game gives you
  1. When you buy Isometricland you get a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to install and play it on the machines you own or use, for as long as you like. You do not have to be online to play, and there is no subscription.
  2. You are buying a licence to the game, not the game itself. Isometricland — its code, art, music, ride designs and name — remains the property of Michael Mills Jr. and its other rights-holders.
  3. Please do not sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute copies of the game, publish a purchased copy, or remove the notices that say where it came from.
  4. Screenshots, videos, streams, reviews and let’s-plays of Isometricland are welcome, including monetised ones. You do not need permission and you do not owe us anything for them.
  5. The parks you build, the saves you make and anything else you create in the game are yours. If a future version lets you share a park through us, that is the only point at which you give us permission to host and show it, and only for that purpose.
  6. You may make backup copies for yourself. You may not modify or reverse engineer the game except to the extent the law where you live permits whatever this page says — and if you want to make a mod, just ask; the answer is likely yes.
  7. This licence ends if you redistribute the game in breach of clause 3. Nothing else you could plausibly do while playing will end it.
The terms of a donation
  1. A donation is a gift in support of the development of Isometricland. Nothing is sold, promised or delivered in return for it. It does not include a copy of the game.
  2. Donations are not refundable once made. If something has genuinely gone wrong — a duplicate charge, a mistyped amount, a card that was not yours — write to us and we will put it right.
  3. A donation does not entitle you to a copy of the game, to early access, or to any say in what gets built. If you want the game, the Buy page is the page for that.
  4. Isometricland is not a registered charity, and a donation to it is not tax-deductible.
  5. Donations fund the making of the game. They are not held for you and not held on any condition — a donation is not an investment, a loan, a pre-payment or a share in anything, and it carries no financial return.
  6. Donations are collected by the payment processor named at checkout. Your card details are handled by them and are never seen by this site.
The leaderboard, and what you type
  1. Appearing on the leaderboard is opt-in. Leave the box unticked and your donation stays completely private.
  2. Tick it and the name and location you typed are published beside your gift once the entry has been read. Every typed response is reviewed before it appears, so the board may take a day to catch up.
  3. Your favorite ride and favorite park are counted whether or not you appear on the board. They are the one place a donor can tell the owner what to build, and they are taken seriously.
  4. Your email is only ever used for the receipt and for the link that takes you off the board. It is never shown, never sold, and never a mailing list.
  5. Please keep what you type civil and your own: no other person’s name or details, nothing unlawful, hateful, obscene or threatening, no advertising and no links. We may decline to publish an entry, or remove one later — and declining to publish it never affects your donation or your place in the ranking.
  6. Ticking the box gives us permission to show what you typed on this site. You keep it, you can withdraw it at any time under clause 7, and it is used for nothing else.
  7. You can take yourself off the board at any time using the link on your receipt, or by emailing us.
Using this site
  1. To buy or donate you must be old enough to enter a contract where you live — 18 in most places — or have a parent or guardian do it for you. The site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from one; if you believe a child has given us information, tell us and it will be deleted.
  2. The site’s own text, art, logo and code belong to Michael Mills Jr. Please do not copy them wholesale. Linking to any page, quoting a reasonable amount with credit, and using our screenshots to write about the game are all fine.
  3. Please do not attempt to break, overload, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorised access to the site, its API or its database.
  4. The site is offered as it is. We aim to keep it up but do not promise it will never be offline, and pages describing an unreleased game will change as the game does.
  5. What we do with the data you give us is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Warranties, liability and law
  1. Your legal rights come first. Nothing on this page removes or limits any right you have under the consumer law where you live. Where a clause below conflicts with that law, the law wins and the rest of this page stands.
  2. Subject to clause 1, the site and the game are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game is free of every bug or that it will run on every machine.
  3. Subject to clause 1, our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms, the site, a donation or the game is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits or lost time.
  4. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  5. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Kentucky — except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own local courts, which it may, and which this clause does not take away.
  6. Before anything formal, email us. Almost everything that reaches this page is a refund, and a refund takes a day.
The small print about the small print
  1. We may update these terms — the game is being built and the page has to keep up. The date at the top of this page is when it last changed. Changes are not retroactive: the terms that apply to a pre-order or a donation are the ones published when you made it.
  2. If a clause on this page turns out to be unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues to apply.
  3. Not enforcing a term once does not waive it.
  4. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the site, a pre-order and a donation.
  5. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to somebody else. We may transfer ours if the game changes hands, and your rights — including your licence and any outstanding refund — go with them.
